Hello Memorial Day!

Hello Weekend! Hello Memorial Day! Patriotism, reflection and family time. On Memorial Day, take time to think about those who gave their lives for our country and enjoy time with family. Historical monuments and parades in Butler County are great ways to celebrate Memorial Day throughout the entire weekend.

 

Butler County Veterans Memorial (Hamilton)  – More than 700 names of local veterans from World War I to present are memorialized on this monument.

Soldiers, Sailors and Pioneers Monument (Hamilton) – This monument stands proudly at the 1790s site of Fort Hamilton, along the banks of the Great Miami River. The three-story structure features colorful windows honoring service men and women from the Civil War. A 17-foot Civil War soldier proclaims victory on the top of the structure.

Veterans Memorial (Middletown) – Located within the Woodside Cemetary and Arboretum, this memorial honors all Middletown and surrounding area veterans.

Miami University Freedom Summer 1964 Memorial (Oxford) – This outdoor Memorial at Miami University commemorates the Civil Rights workers who were trained at the Western College for Women in 1964.
