Arts

Arts abound in Butler County! With talented theatre groups, inspiring art shows, and creative collaborative productions, the art scene is exploding in every Butler County community. The BC is home to he oldest continually operating stained glass studio that sits in the heart of downtown Middletown, the Beauverre Riordan Stained Glass Studio. In addition to Middletown, Hamilton, known as the City of Sculpture, has an amazing arts reputation featuring unique sculptures sprinkled throughout the community. One trip to the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Museum is all it takes for your artistic side to be permanently inspired! Throughout this 240-acre park lie magnificent outdoor works of sculpture art, serene ponds, and beautiful wildlife. Pyramid Hill also is home to the Museum of Ancient Sculpture, which features historic pieces of art and relevant artifacts from the Egyptian era.

Shop your heart out in Butler County! Bring your group of girlfriends, the whole family, or just yourself to the Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe. This shopping destination features more than 100 outlet stores with high-end designer products for amazing outlet sale prices! Entertainment

Adventure and excitement await you in Butler County! West Chester features the world's largest indoor train-themed entertainment center, EnterTRAINment Junction. This family-friendly attraction displays over 90 G-scale trains riding over two miles of track, along with the American Railroading Museum! After a day at EnterTRAINment Junction, you and your family and friends, can spend some time out on the lake at Wake Nation. Wake Nation is the only cable wakeboarding park in the region and provides guests will all the equipment you'll need to get started.

History

Butler County is rich with historical landmarks, sculptures, museums, and community districts. The Canal Museum in Middletown lies on the former route of the Miami-Erie Canal and showcases displays of the canal and early industry of Middletown. The Soldiers, Sailors, and Pioneers Monument in Hamilton sits on the site of Fort Hamilton and prominently displays a 17-foot Civil War Solider proclaiming victory on the top of this monumental structure. In Oxford, the Freedom Summer 1964 Memorial on the Western College Historic District of Miami University commemorates the civil rights workers who were trained at Miami University in 1964.
