The Top Tacos Around Butler County

You can make Taco Day any day of the week!

Taco Tuesday anyone? Personally, I feel taco day can be any day of the week... even all seven days if you prefer. There's really never a bad time to enjoy a taco, especially when you have so many choices of the best tacos around, right here in Butler County. There's an abundance of fun Mexican restaurants scattered throughout the BC— Some offering traditional tacos, while others have taken the classics and created their own fun tacos with a unique spin. No matter which kind of taco you're in the mood for, we've got it! Check out our top picks for the best tacos around.

1. Agave & Rye

With a chef-inspired take on the standard taco, Agave & Rye's mission is to take you on an adventure with every bite. There are 19 fresh tacos to choose from and each one is delicious in its own way. My personal favorite is The Snitch: Jamaican Jerk Mahi-Mahi, Rice, Caramelized Pineapple, Pico Salsa & Sour Cream. Head over to the Liberty Center to experience this funky atmosphere with high energy fun, eclectic decor, and epic tacos!

2. Taqueria Guanajuato

What was once a popular food truck in Hamilton has now evolved into a popular restaurant. The menu includes a vast selection of authentic Mexican cuisine, and their tacos are top notch. You have the choice of five seasoned meats— Grilled Steak, Marinated Pork, Fish, Spiced Ground Pork, or Shrimp. Top it all off with fresh lime and cilantro packed into a double-layered corn tortilla.

3. Fiesta Charra

This fun bar and restaurant in Oxford is very popular among the locals and Miami University students due to it's large menu and even larger portions! One of their most delicious and popular dishes is The Preferido: grilled chicken, steak and shrimp topped with chorizo, pineapple, and melted cheese— all served next to a bed of rice. Pair it with one of their margaritas and the perfect dinner is served!

4. Bourbon's Craft Kitchen

This is an ideal spot for lunch or dinner in Middletown! There are six staple tacos on the menu, with varying "Chef's Special' tacos— like the Chile Lime Grilled Shrimp Tacos pictured below: Fresh shrimp, creamy white queso, salsa verde, cilantro, finished off with tortilla strips. Your tastebuds will thank you!

I had to give a shoutout to one more... the Shrimp Mac Taco! It's not your classic, but it takes such a fun spin on a regular shrimp taco and is definitely worth a try.

5. La Piñata

In the mood for a classic taco? This Mexican grill in Fairfield has what you're looking for! Make your own taco with all of the traditional ingredients you love— either a soft tortilla or a hard shell with ground beef, shredded beef, or shredded chicken. Make it your own by adding on any of your favorite toppings: cheese, lettuce, salsa, guacamole, rice, beans, sour cream and more... see how La Piñata can steal your heart one taco at a time.

6. Mi Burrito

Casual, laid back and the tacos will keep you coming back! Mi Burrito in West Chester is known for their delicious burritos and tacos. If you're looking for a spot with the style of Chipotle, this family-run business should be your go-to. The meats and ingredients are fresh and plentiful (especially the salsas) and you can sample anything before you add it to your taco. The carne asada is highly recommended— wrapped in a taco or in a bowl!

7. Gaslight Brewhouse

Not your traditional taco, but the Fiesta Taco Salad at this Oxford Sports Bar is worth a mention. Tortilla strips, cheddar cheese, seasoned taco meat, black beans, corn, onion, jalapeño and salsa all covering a fresh bed of crispy lettuce— everything you need without the tortilla!

8. CineBistro

This theatre and dining experience in Liberty Center only has one taco on the menu... but it's delicious! The Crispy Mahi-Mahi Soft Taco is simple but so good: Jicama & Cilantro Slaw, Fresno Chile, Chipotle Aioli and Crispy Mahi-Mahi to make for a great fish taco. The best part? Order and eat while you recline to watch a movie. Not interested in seeing a film? Head over for dinner in their bar and lounge, no movie ticket needed.
