The weather is perfect for playing outside, and the trees provide a colorful canvas to appreciate while exploring these fall festivals and events. Butler County, Ohio has a cornucopia of fall festivities to fill a weekend getaway. Fall in Butler County means plenty of pumpkins, hayrides, costumes contests (even for your furry family members) and delicious fall treats! For a heart pounding extreme fall activity, we’re going to tell you about a haunted scream park that’s not for the faint of heart.
Niederman Family Farm Fall Festival
Fall on the farm! The Niederman Family Farm Fall festival is a great place to make new family memories. Niederman Family Farm is known for their 14 acre corn maze and famous cinnamon-sugar donuts. Pick out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, there’s all shapes and sizes. Pig races, a giant jumping pillow and climbing web will keep the kids busy and happy!
Brown's Family Farm Market
Open Saturdays and Sundays! This family farm market has a "Tiny Town" play village, corn maze, straw maze, animals, pumpkin patch and a picnic area. Throughout the farm you'll find photo opportunities and farm equipment displays.
Jack O’Lantern Junction
EnterTRAINment Junction brings you a kid-friendly indoor Halloween celebration during Jack O’Lantern Junction! Main Street is full of Halloween décor. You can walk through a Trick-or-Treat maze with no scary ghouls, and there’s multiple treat stations. This event has the area’s only indoor pumpkin patch!
Alive After 5!
Dress as your favorite un-dead creature and roam downtown Hamilton during Alive After 5! Businesses along Hamilton’s high street corridor will offer themed surprises for the evening. We’ll let you in on one secret.
Operation Pumpkin is one of the largest pumpkin festivals in Ohio. This three day pumpkin fest takes place in downtown Hamilton. The streets are lined with pumpkin craft vendors, pumpkin treats, skillfully carved pumpkins and tons more. In 2014 Bill Neptune won the state record with a 2008 LB giant pumpkin! We can’t wait to see the pumpkin contenders at this year’s giant pumpkin weigh off.
Apple Butter Festival
This fall favorite festival is held at the Pioneer Farm Museum at Hueston Woods State Park. You can watch the process of how homemade apple butter is cooked over an open fire. Craft vendors, concessions and music are all part of the fun. Take home fresh apple butter to enjoy all autumn long.
Fall Tree Walk
Walk off all the fall treats you’ve been enjoying at Fall Tree Walk at Dudley Woods MetroPark. This fall walk will allow walkers to enjoy fall colors in full swing here in Ohio.
Bring a group of up to 25 to Forest Run MetroPark for a hayride and fall harvest activities. After your 30 minute hayride your group will enjoy picking their own pumpkin, a corn shell play area, straw maze, photo opportunities and more. Be sure to register by calling 513-867-5835.
Middletown's Broad Street Bash turns Monster Mash! There will be plenty to do including a costume contest, kid's haunted fun house, food vendors, live music by Inspector 12 and a laser light show!
Pumpkin Patch at the Park
Fall festival fun in all its glory! Kids of all ages will have fun on a hayride to select the perfect pumpkin! Get your face painted, play games, make crafts and more! Refreshments will be available.
Beer and cider loves rejoice! Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield is hosting the ultimate pumpkin beer and cider event. Food trucks will be on site for when hunger strikes!
Hanover Haunted Harvest
Bring the family to celebrate Halloween in Hanover! Be sure to wear your costume and enter the contest. For kids ages 2-16 there will be a pumpkin decorating contest, so grab a pumpkin and start practicing! Candy and refreshments will also be available.
Costumed kids and adults can spend the evening at this spooktacular event at Bridgewater Falls. Treat Street will have a petting zoo, DJ and Trunk-or-Treat. Goodies can be found as you look around the shopping center.
“Bark” your calendars for the HOWL! Bring the whole family (including your beloved pup!) for a dog friendly Halloween parade and Trick-or-Treat trail. Walk the beautiful 1.4 mile paved trail around VOA Park lake and stop at the treat and prize stations.
Trail of Treats
Take part in the Trail of Treats on Halloween afternoon. There will be a treat treasure hunt at Forest Run MetroPark. Activities include a hayride, straw maze, shelled corn play area and more. Wear a costume to earn a special treat!
Land of Illusion Haunted Scream Park
Land of Illusion is the haunted home to fear filled attractions. Hit the Middletown Haunted Trail for a terrifying trek through the dark and daunting woods. A Temple of Terror, Dr. Pyscho’s Haunted Estate, Zombie Sniper Patrol, Stage of Rage and Killer Klowns can all be found at Land of Illusion. Live spooks guarantee a different fright each and every petrifying night. Step off the platform if you dare at Demon Drop, a 40ft free-fall experience.
