Curating the Vibe

They were able to keep the building’s original tin ceilings, furthering its authentic charm. You’ll notice some familiar seating arrangements out of the context of their original home. Vintage bowling alley seats line the outer rim of the dining area. Different textiles of metal and wood are used throughout. Soon, Quarter Barrelers will be able to take their drinks upstairs. Their rooftop patio is expected to open early summer!

Meet The Brewer

Brandon Ney has grown exponentially in the brewing world. His humble beginnings of overloading a Jungle Jim’s homebrew kit with hops and sizzling an electric burner are a thing of his distant past. Now the owner and head brewer of Quarter Barrel, he’s passionate about bringing a different flair to Ohio’s craft beer scene.

Mixed fermentations, continental styles, and bretts are Brandon’s jam. He hopes to have six or eight aged barrels of beer by this time next year. He pays homage to the brews and places that inspire him the most through his “Pretentious Foreign Language Names” series. He appreciates the sense of expression that Belgian, French, and Canadian beer provide and wants the beer that he brews to compliment and emulate the styles he loves the most.

Food, Glorious Food

You can’t go wrong with the special of the day. Quarter Barrel’s head chef, Patrick, is immensely talented at what he does. Recently, he whipped up an out of this world Pan Roasted Sea Bass topped with an herb cream sauce paired with broccolini. The Margherita Lavosh also comes highly recommended. Tomato, basil, and melty mozzarella cheese perfectly drape a sesame cracker crust with herb aioli and drizzled with a balsamic glaze.
