The Benninghofen House portrays the lifestyle of a prominent businessman and his family during the latter 19th century, as Hamilton developed into an industrial center. Original architectural details remain throughout the interior of this National Register buildings and offers a wonderful glimpse of the best of the past.
The Italianate home was build in 1861 and was home to the Benninghofen family for nearly 75 years. Throughout the home, guests will see period furnishings, antique toys, industrial artifacts, and more. The Benninghofen House is now the current home of the Butler County Historical Society. Tours are available by appointment.
