The Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival takes place each July and features everything from hot air balloon launches and a balloon glow to skydiving. Middfest International adds a little cultural flare to the area in October. Each year, Middfest celebrates the food, art, music, and overall culture of a different country. In the winter months, the magic and wonder of the holidays bring with it Light Up Middletown. Taking place at Smith Park, Light Up Middletown is a drive-through holiday light display featuring a tunnel of lights, Santa's Workshop, and dozens of animated displays.

BeauVerre Riordan Stained Glass Studio is located in downtown Middletown and is the oldest continually operating stained glass studio in the United States.
