The college town welcomes you to explore its historic attractions and educational tales. The McGuffey Museum, built in 1833 by William Holmes McGuffey, a Miami University faculty member, compiled the first edition of the McGuffey Eclectic Reader. Miami University Oxford Ohio

His reader taught lessons in reading, spelling, and civic education by using stories of honesty, hard work, personal respect, and more standards alongside illustrative selections from literary works.

With a proud emphasis on education, history, and arts, Oxford also features the Oxford Community Arts Center, featuring rehearsal and display space, and the Miami University Art Museum and Sculpture Park, featuring five changing galleries and a robust 10,000 piece permanent collection.
