Whether you're coming to adventure for a day trip, weekend getaway, or staying a week, there's a lot to do while you're here... especially if you're looking to explore antique stores, discover collectible items, or browse through beautiful vintage shops. Antiquing road trips have become a huge trend this year, and Butler County is the perfect place for all kinds of antique finds. While planning your road trip, these 8 unique stops are a must-visit for one-of-a-kind treasures. 

 

1. West Chester Antique Center

Start off your trip exploring this massive antique center! There is over 70,000 square feet to browse, including 250 different booths, 300 show cases and 50 display towers. You'll find everything from antique furniture, to vintage decor, to collectibles and more. There is always a lot to see here... and a lot of treasure to be discovered! 

Road Trip Tip: If you're also looking for some other unique things to do on your trip, EnterTRAINment Junction is a one-of-a-kind attraction here in West Chester with the world's largest model train display. 

 

2. The Toy Department

6600 Dixie Highway | Fairfield, OH 45014

This place is as cool as it sounds... The Toy Department in Fairfield features a variety of vintage toys from the 50s all the way to current day. They also have the area's best collection of Kenner nostalgia and memorabilia. You'll find everything including Star Wars, Barbies, Hot Wheels, G.I. Joe, Marvel Superheroes, and so much more. 

Road Trip Tip: Although some of their products are rare (including pre-production collectibles), they also offer toys for under $5— the perfect road trip souvenir! 

 

3. Ohio Valley Antique Mall

7285 Dixie Highway | Fairfield, OH 45014

After a quick five minute drive from The Toy Department, you can venture into Ohio Valley Antique Mall— another huge space to find plenty of goods! Inside are over 500 dealers offering vintage style clothing, books, collectibles, furniture, seasonal items... and the list goes on.

Road Trip Tip: Ohio Valley also has a cafe and customer lounge... the perfect spot to take a break, relax, and look through all of your finds thus far. 

 

4. Venice Pavilion Antique Mall

4299 Hamilton Cleves Rd | Fairfield, OH

1900s Venice Pavilion

Venice Pavilion is one of the oldest antique shops in the area, with a super cool history too. Their building is considered a historic landmark  that can trace its roots back to 1817. It also used to be a 1920s saloon and dance hall, and the building still has its tin ceilings, wood floors, and an old time charm. 

1918 Coin Venice Pavilion

The mall is three floors of antiques and collectibles from about 80 different dealers. "To search is to find even when you're not really sure what it might be, there is a good chance you'll find it here."

Road Trip Tip: Ross Bakery is a short 2 minute drive down the road... if you're looking for an early morning donut for breakfast, they won't disappoint. It's a great option for some road trip fuel. 

 

5. Sara's House

254 High Street | Hamilton, OH 45011

Antique Repurposed Camera

This beautiful mother-daughter owned shop in Hamilton has a lot to offer if you've been searching for something truly unique. Their homemade lamps are made by Sara's husband. He takes old, unused or vintage items and repurposes them into incredible home decor. Every lamp is unique and has it's own story— from vintage cameras, industrial pieces, old typewriters, or even antique baseball trophies. They specialize in repurposed items offering one of a kind furniture, accessories, women's clothing, gifts, decor and more.

6. Unsung Salvage Design Co.

Inside Unsung Salvage

Unsung Salvage is a shop unlike any other, full of eclectic creativity! The owners are always working to find items that people have forgotten about or think of as "junk" — and give the items new life. There's so much to discover here, with the perfect combination of old and new...

Road Trip Tip: On the side of Unsung Salvage's building is a beautiful StreetSpark Art Mural... don't miss your opportunity for a selfie. 

 

7. Gallery on Clinton

Make your way over to Middletown to experience the Gallery on Clinton. It's a beautifully organized shop with a large variety. They are always stocked with wooden furniture, home decor, comic books, and so much more. There's something to be discovered in every corner. 

Road Trip Tip: While in Middletown, you have to stop by BeauVerre Riordan Stained Glass Studio – the oldest continually operating stained glass studio in the US. It's only a five minute walk from Gallery on Clinton. 

 

8. The Bird House Antiques

114 W High Street | Oxford, OH 45056

The Bird House Antiques originally opened their doors in 1973, and to this day is chock-full of glassware, sporting items, pottery, clocks,  toys, sterling flatware, turquoise jewelry, and a myriad of other fun things. Located right in the heart of Oxford, they also specialize in Miami University items including memorabilia, yearbooks, and spirit wear. 

Road Trip Tip: Oxford is a beautiful town with a lot of charm. Be sure to check out Oxford Memorial Park right down the street for the perfect place to relax to end your trip (or before you gear up for the next stop!)

9. Blue Cottage
