Kick Off the Summer | Best Kid Activities

School is out for Summer!¬†ūüé∂

Are the kids ready to kick off Summer? We're here to help! There is no such thing as Summertime boredom, especially when there is so much fun to be had here in the BC. Keep your kids active (and off the screen!) with these 10 Summer activities ‚ÄĒ but don't let your kids have all the fun. Many of these activities are fun for the whole family to share.


1. EnterTRAINment Junction

This experience in not like any other. Start off by viewing the world‚Äôs largest train display ‚ÄĒ¬†Over 25,000 sq ft of train displays taking your kids on a journey¬†through different periods of history. Kids¬†can interact and play with the Coney Island Display, and for a little bit of a history lesson, visit the American Railroad Museum and find out the story behind trains in the United States. Along the way you‚Äôll also find more than incredible train displays: check out their¬†Marble Display, Imagination Junction, and the A-Maze-N Funhouse.¬†All¬†aboard to EnterTRAINment Junction for a full day of fun!

2. The Liberty Center

The Liberty Center is full of fun for kids and adults alike. Here you can find shopping, dining, entertainment and outdoor adventure all wrapped into one. Kids especially love the Splash Pad in Liberty Center's Park, along with The Liberty Center Express! With over 70 places to shop, eat and be entertained, there are always new experiences and adventures to be had. 

The Splash Pad is on for the season ‚ÄĒ fountains will run from 10am - 9am (weather permitting).¬†

3. You're Fired! Pottery Studio

If your kids like to get crafty, then You're Fired! Pottery Studio is the perfect place to let them show their creativity. Their unique studio offers an opportunity for parents and their children to come together and create. Choose your pottery piece, paint it yourself and their staff will help you with every step along the way. A great spot to make Summer memories and create a keepsake!

4. Land of Illusion's Aqua Adventures

Aqua Adventures at Land of Illusion is Middletown‚Äôs little slice of paradise. BC‚Äôs only inflatable obstacle course, the Wibit Adventure Zone¬†is sure to bring excitement for the whole family.¬†There is also a Kids Wibit Zone for kids under 43‚ÄĚ tall that brings the¬†same excitement ‚ÄĒ with an included life vest!¬†The park also has sand volleyball, paddle-boarding, corn-hole, and the relaxing Sandy Cove & Aqua Lounge. Come visit for an adventurous¬†and fun-filled¬†summer day!

5. Harbin Park

If a nice day in nature is what you're looking for, come to Harbin Park. With beautiful mountain biking trails, a disc golf course, and ton of great views, Harbin Park is a hidden gem in Fairfield. There is also Muskopf Preserve which is a great walking trail full of wildlife for the whole family to experience. Take the kids for a relaxing, laid back day outside!  


6. The WEB Entertainment

The WEB Entertainment has something for every kid at any age. From arcade games, to go-kart racing, fun laser tag games, mini-golf, or rock climbing ‚ÄĒ¬†everyone will find something they love!

7. StreetSpark Mural Map

An artsy adventure! Spend a day walking around Hamilton and enjoying all of the beautiful murals that it has to offer! This engaging activity will be the perfect opportunity for some great pictures and some great memories. Each of the 11 StreetSpark Murals have their own story, making this adventure even better! Pictured is Stop #8 ‚ÄĒ Hey Caddy'O ‚ÄĒ¬†which pays tribute to the¬†automotive manufacturing history of Hamilton, in particular Fisher Body, as they¬†produced bodies for Cadillac from 1947 through 1988.¬†


8. Archery & Dart Arena

What's better than some fun competition? Dart Arena in West Chester is a great place for an action filled day. Every kid is provided with their choice of a blaster and then the fun begins! For some extra adrenaline, try out the Archery Arena experience. The rules are similar to dodgeball, but with bows and foam-tipped arrows. Everything is monitored and completely safe. Give your kid a day they won't forget at the Dart Arena!

9. Nation Road Horse Rental

Who doesn't love horses? You can take the kids horseback riding right here in the BC!
