Looking for some family-friendly activities? We're here to help! There is no such thing as summertime boredom, especially when there is so much fun to be had here in Butler County. Keep everyone active (and off the screen) with these 15 activities that are fit for the whole family.
1. EnterTRAINment Junction
This experience in not like any other. Start off by viewing the world’s largest train display — Over 25,000 sq ft of train displays taking your kids on a journey through different periods of history. Kids can interact and play with the Coney Island Display, and for a little bit of a history lesson, visit the American Railroad Museum and find out the story behind trains in the United States. Along the way you’ll also find more than incredible train displays: check out their Marble Display, Imagination Junction, and the A-Maze-N Funhouse. All aboard to EnterTRAINment Junction for a full day of fun.
2. Wake Nation
There's nothing quite like spending a warm summer day at Ohio's preimer cable park. Wake Nation is the perfect place where you can wakeboard, wakeskate, water-ski and kneeboard... all without a boat! You can also check out their Adventure Park with a huge inflatable obstacle course in the water.
3. The Donut Trail
The ultimate family adventure! To complete the Donut Trail, all you need to do is grab a passport and visit 13 local donut shops to get a stamp at each one. Once your passport is complete, you'll redeem it for your very own Donut Trail T-shirt. It's a family favorite way to make sweet memories and eat a ton of delicious donuts along the way.
4. You're Fired! Pottery Studio
If your kids like to get crafty, then You're Fired! Pottery Studio is the perfect place to let them show their creativity. Their unique studio offers an opportunity for parents and children to come together and create. Choose your pottery piece, paint it yourself, and their staff will help you every step along the way. A great spot to make summer memories and create a keepsake!
5. Niederman Family Farm
This working farm invites you and the family to come see what they are all about. In their fourth generation, Niederman Family Farm has been educating and entertaining families for over a decade. Enjoy tractor rides, exploring the corn maze, Summer Play Days, and so much more.
6. StreetSpark Mural Tour
An artsy adventure! Spend a day walking around Hamilton and enjoying all of the beautiful murals that it has to offer. This engaging activity will be the perfect opportunity for some great pictures and some great memories. Each of the 19 StreetSpark Murals have their own story, making this adventure even better! 7. The WEB Entertainment
The WEB Extreme Entertainment has something for every kid at any age. From arcade games, to go-kart racing, fun laser tag games, mini-golf, or rock climbing— everyone will find something they love! Their new wizard themed mini golf course is a huge hit for kids of all ages.
8. The Salty Dog Museum
A car museum for kids and adults alike. The Salty Dog Museum features a large selection of classic cars, vintage firetrucks and more. The best part? The museum owners encourage you to explore the vehicles yourself, so you can hop in and even honk the horn. Families can spend hours here marveling at all the museum has to offer.
9. Nation Road Horse Rental
Who doesn't love horses? You can take the kids horseback riding right here in the Butler County! Nation Road Horse Rental in Oxford provides a variety of trail options for all types of experience levels, including first-timers all the way to experienced riders.
10. Indian Springs Berry Farm
Enjoy the warm summer weather in one of the tastiest ways... berry picking at Indian Springs Berry Farm. This family-friendly activity is fun for all ages from July to October. Take a walk along the fields, and hand pick your own organic blackberries to fill up your basket. Just come to the farm and they will have everything you need.
11. Jungle Jim's International Market
People call it the theme park of food... Jungle Jim's International Market in Fairfield is a great place to take the kids and explore. What started as a fresh produce stand has now evolved into a wild 6+ acre attraction with over 180,000 products from all over the world. The store is also chock full of animation and themed aisles, so it is always a fun experience for kids and adults alike.
12. Holiday Auto Theatre
Watch a movie under the stars at one of Ohio's last remaining drive-in movie theaters. Holiday Auto Theatre is always a good option for family and friends looking for a night out, offering double (and occasionally triple) features. The films typically change or rotate every few nights, and they offer a full Snack Bar too!
